Fluffy White Clouds

Lys wants to make Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) an integral part of your day-to-day wardrobe, starting with an easy-to-wear and care-for button-down shirt.

UPF Clothing should be the cornerstone of skin protection

UPF fabrics can block >99% of UVB rays and 96-98% of UVA rays (the ones tied to aging and deeper skin damage) while SPF 30-50 sunscreens may only block 76-94% of UVB and 54-82% of UVA.

We're getting more UV than any previous generation.

Every 1°C the planet warms, skin cancer risk goes up.

Scientists project that we’re already on track for an 11% increase in skin cancer cases by 2050.

About the designer, erin

I knew red hair and fair skin gave me a greater chance of skin cancer.

But then, I had a basal cell carcinoma removed at 33.

I created Lys–Norwegian for "light" and an homage to the ancestry that gave me red hair and pale skin–when I couldn’t find UPF clothing that fit my style. Using my background and networks in apparel, supply chain, strategy, and operations, I decided to make my own.

We're currently building our first products. We want to get every detail right before we launch and can't wait to share it all.
